Editorial : ‘The Kashmir Files’ film directed by Vivek Agnihotri has become a controversial subject in India. Vivek Agnihotri succeeded in delivering a controversial output through the film. While one national is promoting the film against a particular religion, the other section is watching the film imagining as of watching this film is a parameter for ‘patriotism’.
The director Vivek Agnihotri highlighted the atrocities on Kashmir pandits in this film, and, currently, this film is receiving immense response from a particular section of the nation.
So far, so good. As atrocities on Kashmir pandits is highlighted in this film, its a welcoming factor that such kind of alleged genocides must and should be discussed no matter who are the victims of those things
Earlier, just like Kashmir pandits, many other religion massacre incidents were happened in India. Apart from the Partial point of View(POV), if we speak of Kashmir pandits, we should also speak of the Muslims and other religion related alleged genocides in India. In my opinion, debates and discussions on this issue would bring a solution to these issues.
I believe that the people who are welcoming this film must also promote if a film/documentary is made on the ‘Indian Army atrocities on Kashmir women and youngsters’ in future. As we believe that what the director Vivek Agnihotri says is absolutely correct without examining the facts, we should also be able to accept if someone makes a film or documentary on atrocities on other religions in their POV in future. If a film/documentary is made on the 1948 Hyderabad alleged Muslim massacre or the 1969 Gujarat riots, it should not be treated as false/fake, and people should not demand to ban the film/documentary. They should also support that film similar to ‘The Kashmir Files’.
If you solely treat your religion as the only sufferer and the others are not, then you will be regarded as a traitor. People must hear the pain of every sufferer irrespective of their religions, regions and communities.
