As expected the High Court has postponed the 10th class examinations in Telangana which were halted in the middle of the schedule in March due to the lockdown induced by the COVID-19 crisis. The Telangana High Court postponed the exams in GHMC and Rangareddy district while gave its green signal for the rest of the districts in the state.
Stating that “Students’ lives are more important than exams,” the High Court asked the Telangana government to conduct exams in on later dates in Hyderabad which is a Red Zone. Before this, the Telangana government requested the government to give permission for the conduction of exams in all areas of state disregarding the virus threat.
Countering this, the court posed questions at the government. “How will be responsible if a student dies in the middle of the exams? What if an exam center falls in the Containment zone? We cannot take risk. More than the exams, the lives of students matter more,” said the Court.
